Holmdel Water Damaged Home
The water line from the ice-maker in the kitchen spewed sufficient liquid onto the floor during the night. This wood floor is a laminate-based product that does not hold up well against moisture. We recommend to our customers to cover the kitchen area with tile, linoleum, or at least engineered flooring planks. Of course, now vinyl-look flooring is the rage--and claimed to be waterproof. Our SERVPRO crew can remove the water from the surface and the joints. In this case, there was warping of this inexpensive topping, so to preserve the plywood subfloor from delaminating, and affect the underpinnings of the floor joists, some planks were removed. Circumstances dictate the best methods for trying to salvage or not many building elements within a Holmdel house. Our LGR dehumidifier and air movers are completing the drying process in preparation for the installation of new flooring.
